Children in Senior Classes each receive a monthly issue of the children's newspaper "The Primary Planet". "Aimed at the senior classes, (8 to 12 years), The Primary Planet is a children’s monthly newspaper style glossy magazine. It contains 40 pages of fresh, topical and up to date features each month". In our school children in Third to Sixth Class read "The Primary Planet", while children in Second Class read a similar publication for younger readers called "Newsflash". Some children in our school have also had their writing published in "The Primary Planet". "Children contribute by submitting book reviews, entering the monthly short story competition, writing reports and submitting school news".
